Look into Saas Fee..... it is relaxed good nightlife intermediate standard and aimed towards snow-boarders.

2Alpes! (Predictably) Lots of nightlife, good snow conditions even when things get a bit warm.

You need somewhere with good instructors. Mid March is an awesome time to learn, usually great snow, and not so freezing as in January! Go for a chalet somewhere, much more fun than just the pair of you on your own every minute of the day and night. DONT let him teach you, you'll pick up all his bad habits and probably argue, Instructors will get you flying down the slopes in a controlled manner in no time at all. If it's just two of you, you can probably afford to wait a bit longer and see where the snow is and pick up a good deal. I vote for Arinsal, but im extremely biased and love the place.

I would go with Nadenoodlee for andorra except that I'd vote for Soldeu - excellent ski school and English speaking instructors.
