Poster: A snowHead

Someone has asked me to wax their board pre season.
I only have a ski scraper about 8" wide.
Does a snowboard need a wider scraper? Otherwise won't I damage the ptex?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

GordonFreeman - I've done a fair few boards with a small scraper and it's been fine. There is one HUGE advantage to a wider scraper though - it takes a third of the time!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

True
How do you avoid digging it into the ptex then?

Just be firm, but not over-zealous. On the boards I've done it was no-where near an issue.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

GordonFreeman, I've found that the wide ones just flex too much & that it was hard to apply even pressure so I prefer to use a standard ski size scraper. A wide scraper won't work on a board with a rockered base. Can't see how you'd think a standard scraper could damage a board when awide one wouldn't?

spyderjon - now you're assuming that I'd want to do a good job on someone's board, rather than a quick one
Anyway - have I told you about the friend who bought the Klister wax by mistake. Kid you not, funniest thing I've ever seen at the top of a chair lift. Even the liftie was laughing...
