Poster: A snowHead

Has anyone tried Rocky Mountain Sports for ski hire in Breckenridge? They seem to be the cheapest for performance skis for 2 adults and child's skis x2. They are about £100 cheaper than the next cheapest, which is starting to fall into the too-good-to-be-true category.
They are a few blocks up Main Street from the main lift base (Peak 9), so maybe they have to undercut the shops that are closer to the lifts.
I wonder if they are still trading, though. Their website, www.rockymtnsports.com, worked fine a week ago, but now diverts to a domain register page, so maybe they closed down and the domain registration ran out.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I tried that already, as it was on my print of their webpage from a week ago. I get a message saying the number is not valid from my area. Not sure if that means the number is disconnected or that you can't call a US freecall number from outside the US.

They also have a place within the Great divide lodge, which is right at the bottom of peak 9. They'll even store your skis for you over night.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I used them 5 years ago and didn't have any problems. I also thought that the price seemed too good to be true - I seem to remember that they had a free rental deal for kids that worked out pretty well.
BTW, you can usually call US toll-free numbers from the UK, but you'll first hear a warning that the call will be charged. If their website's down and their phone number's unobtainable, it sounds like they might no longer be trading.

It's Breckenridge Sports in the Great Divide, which is the Vail Resorts operation - see rentskis.com

Thanks for the replies. Their website is still down. I can't believe a ski shop that is still trading would let their website go down just as the season starts, so I think they must have gone bust. (Which is a shame, considering Jonny's comments. Yes, it is the kids free rental that makes them really cheap. WWW.skiextras.com also do kids free, but unfortunately their prices for adult performance skis are so high that it negates the saving on the kids.)
