Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So my young children have hire boots - as most folks do for there youngsters. Kids are nothing if not unreliable - this year my 7 yr old piped up after a day my feet hurt so we got the shop to go a size larger and she seemed happy, but my youngest is only just 5. How do shops fit kids and is there any way that I can check the fit or what are the best sorts of questions to ask a 5 yr old to check if the boots are too tight. Kids don't normally pipe up in the company of seemingly more experienced adults to say if things aren't right.
I'd appreciate any clues.

,
When our kids were young we would get appox the right size then take the inner boot out and put the kids foot into it and see how much room there was by feeling. You can feel the foot through the inner boot and see if it is to small.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, Now that's a half decent idea
I hadn't thought of that approach - well worth trying - thanks
Any more, with any more?

, my 5 year old sprog's skiing improved quite a bit this year when we started listening to him saying his boots hurt and changed them, rather than thinking he was just having a whinge
Listen to what the sprog says is what I took away from that...
