Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Route Advice Please - LDA to Val D'Isere

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm looking a doing a bit of a tour prior to my main hol at the end of Jan 2008.
Thinking of starting in LDA and then a resort a day for a few days.
Clearly, the weather conditions will have an effect, so i am concerned about the roads.

First Idea is:-
LDA to the Maurienne Valley for Orelle, \Val Thorens via the D902
From Orelle to Val D'Isere and Tignes via the N6, D902

BMF_Skier, D902 is shut in the winter at the col d' liseran

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thought that may be the case on at least part of the route. Thanks for the 'heads up'.

BMF_Skier, The D902 won't even get you to Orelle, the Col du Galibier will be shut too.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
LDA to Grenoble, rocade sud following signs to Chambery then Albertville, head up the Maurienne towards Modane. Alternatively carry on from Albertville through Moutiers towards Brides les Bains and Bozel, get into the 3Vs via Meribel or Courchevel.

Then head for Moutiers, follow signs for Bourg St Maurice then VDI/Tignes.

You are stuck with the big roads at that time of year, as all the cols are shut. (You sincerely hope thay are shut, because if they aren't there is a serious snow problem.)
