Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A study by the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) in the US has found that helmet use rose from 25 per cent in 2002-03 to 40 per cent in the last ski season. The results of the 2007 NSAA National Demographic Study also suggest that helmet use has become entrenched with the youngest and oldest in the sport. ...Helmet use was highest among younger children, being 64 per cent in those 9 years and less, and in kids aged 10 to 14 years, it was 56 per cent. Helmets were least popular among people aged 18 to 54 years, but usage picked up in people older than this. It was 48 per cent for those aged 55 to 64 years, and 54 per cent for those over 65 years. The NSAA national survey also found that helmet use increased with ability, rising from 26 per cent for beginners to 36 per cent for intermediates and 50 per cent for experts.

The NSAA study comprised a total of 138,919 surveys completed at 92 participating ski resorts during the 2006/07 season.
