Thought I would start a thread on predictions when we will have the first serious snowfall this season. Will it be November, December or God forbid as late as January???

Hoping for a nice build up to PSB.
No snow below 1600m. (I gotta drive there). 1.5m dump on arrival, clear blue skies thereafter.

Whenever the dump happens, it needs to be as low as 600m - too often last year the low Austrian resorts had nothing but rain when the high resorts were actually getting quite a bit of snow...
Anyway, i reckon, last week in November a biggish dump with temps then staying cool after that

I predict the first big widespread snow at lower altitudes will be timed to cause maximum havoc for all those travelling around 22 December, or possibly a week later, for New Year.

This year I think the winter is going to arrive soon. In the first or second week of November we will see the first dumping, and it will be good amount of snow by late November.
Here in Spain we say: "Por Todos los Santos nieve en los altos, y por San Andrés nieve en los pies" which means literally: "In halloween snow in the top of mountain, and in St Andrew (30th November) snow in the feet (in the ground).

Hmmmmm. Freezing-level of 3000m Sat and 3500m Sun doesn't bode well for long-lasting snow. no surprise there, then.
