I remember a few years ago in La Plagne, that they could not use the snow making equipment, due to the water reservoirs being drained fighting forest fires above Champagny.

This map of all the active wild fires in the US is a bit sad. I live in Michigan which is relatively safe from massive wildfires, but we even have a huge wildfire in the Upper Penninsula #28 on the map. Over 18,000 acres have burned but at least its 95% contained.
