Poster: A snowHead

Anyone any experience of kids ski school in La Tania please? After a bad experience this past season with ESF (my 13 year old has some co-ordination problems) we would like to avoid them if possible, unless anyone has good reports and can recommend a teacher

When are you going to La Tania?
We are going March next year and i think a couple of people in my group will be going to Ski School. Chances are you are going early than we are, but if you are going out later, i'd be happy to give you the low down on the ski school we chose.
Also, you must have bene pretty unlucky with ESF - I've used them my past 2 holidays and have been incredibly impressed both time.

magic_hat, Hi - thanks for this. We go 26/1 for a week. This will be our boys third year of lessons, 1st year private with ESF as we were in a small and very French resort with no chance of them being in an English-speaking group - that was very good. 2nd year ESF again, at La Grand Terche. Despite booking months in advance and explaining via email that because of my older son's mild disability, we would need a largely English speaking class, or we'd use private lessons again, they were put into a class with 10 other French children. It has all but put the younger one (8 years old) off skiing and the older one is now scared of 'failing' - if anyone has a good report about ESF in La Tania, we'd give them another chance, but failing that will go elsewhere

Hopefully, you should be better placed in La Tania to get English speaking classes. If the schools in La Tania prove to be short on English kids, I don't think you'd have that problem in Courcheval or Meribel - not ideal, but better than them having a bad time.
However - I did see a review of "Magic in Motion" somewhere that was very positive. I can't find that review at the moment, but this website http://www.latania.co.uk/skiing/lessons.htm says that they specialise in the English market.
Their website is: http://www.magicinmotion.co.uk/

magic_hat, Thanks for taking the trouble to find this - I've emailed them and explained the situation so let's see. Thanks again

I've used a very good English guy, who used to meet us over at Courchevel 1850, is that an option? I can pass on his details if so.

kitenski, Many thanks Greg, but we're hoping to have the easier option of in-resort ski school. If it's not looking good, I'll get back to you, but again, thanks
