When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Founder of Telluride ski resort dies

Telluride, one of America's classic mining towns-turned-ski resorts, has bid farewell to its founder Joseph T. Zoline.

Zoline died on 23 September at the grand old age of 92. The gold mines that originally put Telluride on the map created many millionaires by 1900, but by the 1960s the place had fallen onto hard times. Zoline gave Telluride a rebirth as a successful ski resort from the winter of 1972-3.

Great place , well was in the hippy days . I spent a season there in the early eighties try to get there once a year since them . Now its welthe has moved in its overgrown fully of psuedo hippys. Skiing is still good n Powder Days.
