Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Summer Fitness - Rollerblading

I used to do a lot of blading when I live in Paris. In fact my daily commute was from Puteaux out to the west of town where I worked at Reuters down to the 6th district to my flat taking in a long slalom down the Champs Elysees using small boys for slalom posts. I don't have any video of that but here are a few vids I made back in 2002.

Cool vids. I love the organised blading night in Paris - even some of the police had blades on. What an excellent idea. Was it a one-off event or an annual thing?

Dobz, That's happens weekly , was in Paris last weekend and saw them go past Notre Dame, it was really cool, there is a website about it also. I think they meet every Friday at 9pm in Montparnasse for about 3 hours blading (weather permiting). I bought my first pair of blades at the weekend in Decathlon, once I get a bit of practice in I wouldn't mind trying that Paris night event.

Nice! You can do it in London too, it's fun. I'd love to try the Paris one, though I think I'd need some practice first..

California is the best place for it. This is me near San Diego 2 years ago. Around Venice Beach and Santa Monica they were our main form of transport. Scary though shows how much weight I've put on.

even Houston can put something together. Long beach hasn't been able to muster up an event in years; Napa is looking weak.

comprex, Not tried any of those. What about Hawaii. Off there next summer and wondering whether it's worth taking the skates along.

Colin B, Oahu -maybe- (watch out for cars and wind) not the others IMO. Good summary here and the local skate club is here. Good luck.

comprex, Thanks that's helpful. I'm spending 8 days on Oahu and 8 on Maui. Not sure it will be worth transporting skates all that way.
