Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Daily Mail Ski Show. Did you go?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
[Edit 17 Oct] Now the show's over, here's an updated thread, and a chance to comment if you went.

Any good or bad points? Did you get from the show what you needed? See anyone famous? Would you go again?

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

P.S. Here's a brilliant quote from the show's website today:

Quote:

"With only a few days to go to this year's show things are starting to reach fever pitch!"

Er....guys....the show's started.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes, the legend Glen Plake was there....and gave a great interview to Robin Wallace for ifyouski.com.

Almost as good as him becoming a snowHead.

I went last night and was underwhelmed, although the big air jump/slope was good (see my notes/picture).

playdreamer, is the whole jump and landing covered with snow, or is it part plastic and part snow?

I think the upper run-in part looked like plastic and only the landing zone was snow.

Despite your misgivings, playdreamer, well done for going. It seems you're the only snowHead out of 904 who went on day one....and we got a photo and snow report!

Your snowgo site is really nice, BTW. Just clean straightforward layout. Compare it with the hopeless website of the Daily Mail Ski Show, which probably cost a bomb!

Here's an update (day two) from the DMSS website:

Is there a doctor in the house to treat this worryingly long fever pitch???

I can beat that! I was there on Day Minus One. There working on another show and had a look round during build up. I will probably take a proper look tomorrow.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I was there today (day three). The different hall is definitely an improvement, with a less claustrophobic feeling and all the stands on the same level. Picked up some good value clothes.

Visited about 7 different stands to ask for advice on skis for the season ahead - and got about 10 different answers. Not much progress there, then you may think - although I did come away feeling I've learnt quite a bit about the different skis.

Worth the effort/entry fee? Yes, as I've got the tme at the moment. Came home with a bag of skiing bumph; good for bedtime reading.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

[Since the show closed tonight, it would be interesting to hear more experiences, positive or negative. Did anyone go to any of the apres-show parties/films?]

 You know it makes sense.

went on saturday, enjoyed the big air show - top tricks and humbling when most of the riders look half your age. Highlight for me was meeting Glen Plake - he was doing poster signings, but instead of a quick hi and a poster autograph, the guy spent ages with ever person making him feel like they were long lost buddies. Top guy and still looks like he could huck with the best of them....the rest of the show, same old - same old.
