Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Differences between BASI L1 and Trainee Instructor course (on snow)?

Anyone know if there will be any differences between last season's Trainee Instructor course and next season's Level 1 course (on snow, not indoors or on plastic)? I know the L1 needs 35 hours shadowing to get the qualification, but are there any other differences in the course I should know about before booking a place?

rob@rar, Child Protection module is now required. It's basically a SSS ASSI course on snow, or the old Trainee course with a pass/fail at the end of it, however like the SSS ASSI you normally don't totally fail and have to do the whole thing again, you might get areas in which you need to raise your standard before you pass. i.e. your Plough Parallels might be weak and the Trainer might say you need to do 20 hours practice on them, then get reassessed, then pass, once you've done your 35 hours.
The course model has been set up for BASI by Pete Silver-Gillespie & Derek Tate. Pete is a BASI Trainer & also ran most of the SSS ASSI courses in the south of England and Derek is on the Board of BASI.
