Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Summer Skills?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I've just come back from another ski season and loved it but it took me age to get back up to the same level that i was at last year.
As i'm a very impatient person this was very annoying!!!

Some of my friends suggested i try wakeboarding over the summer to help keep my board skills up- just wondering if anyone had tried this and found that it helped them?

LouLou, welcome to the madhouse.

Wakeboarding would be fun and beneficial to snowboarding. Also a Vew Do would be good for keeping boarding specific muscle groups taunt and great for your balance... Don't forget to keep up cardio fitness and work on your core strength with something like pilates...

"back up to the same level"... of fitness or skill?

If it's the boarding skill, sounds to me like a perfect case for some occasional time in the "fridge"!

LouLou, you could try surfing - not that different and will REALLY train your balance and help with fitness.

Warning though - it is VERY addictive....

If you want a nice place to learn there is a guy in lanzarote called Tim Jones(?? i think) that is VERY good to get started with and has reasonable prices and accom

I'd second little tiger, I used to surf a lot and found it really helped my boarding at the time and vice versa, technique-wise they're not that similar, but it's good for balance and keeping fit and keeping the legs strong. Kite surfing or wakeboarding may be benefical as well.
