Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

SCGB members survey - I won the skis

Here's a bit of good luck....for me anyway. Razz

You may recall SCGB ran an online members survey last year. Everyone who responded was entered in a draw for some Atomic skis.

Well anyway, my name was drawn out of the (ski) hat, and I'm now the proud owner of some Atomic C9 puls, with bindings.

So thanks guys.

Now I just need to get up to MK to try them out. Razz

Life ain't fair, Jonpim, but greedy had better check the bindings. They might be set to automatically eject if your subscription isn't paid - or if you move outside the Home Counties.

Well done greedy
I won a weekend skiing at Chamonix from the Daily Mail Ski Magazine. (It involved writing 4 short essays about ski subjects they set). The prize included being photographed by Jess Stock and skiing with his Girl friend, Vaila McDonald (?) the then womens Extreme ski champion. But unfortunately she did a knee ligament doing a little jump for the cameras just before we went, so we skied one day with Jess and then joined a friend for the second day (James Mann), who had a lovely chalet near Argentierre.
Jess is a good photographer but the light conditions were all wrong for us, and it must be said he isn't a very nice person (as my friend said, before he stopped trying so hard "Well, he's trying but you can see the joins")
However we had a great time and I got some quite nice pics like these.

A technique Jess Stock used that is worth remembering: when he set up a shot (eg I was turning in open snow) he set the focus for the shot and then threw a snowball to show me where to turn so I would be in focus etc.
