Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

FIS ‘2008 Big Finals’ to be held in Bormio

The FIS has announced that the ‘2008 Big Finals’ are scheduled to be held in Bormio (Italy) from March 10th to 16th. The championship is the FIS World Cup season finals for four Olympic disciplines – Alpine Skiing, Cross-Country, Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard....A total of 28 different World Cup competitions are planned at the event, including five Alpine Skiing events (downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom for ladies and men and a team event), three Freestyle events (ladies and men’s moguls, ski cross and half-pipe), four Snowboard events (big air, half-pipe, parallel and snowboard cross) and the new Cross-Country Finals consisting of three competitions (prologue & two distance races for each gender).

The Big Finals have become a FIS tradition every 4 years, during seasons when no major title competitions are staged. Next year, the prize money will total more than CHF 1.4 million.
