Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Johannesburg Gets First Snow Since 1981

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
The first measureable snowfall in 26 years has blanketed Johannesburg, South Africa, closing roads, delaying flights and claiming at least one life. Weather officials say as many as 10 centimeters of snow fell over the area Tuesday night and early Wednesday...
The officials say the last recorded snowfall for the area was in September of 1981. Temperatures on Wednesday dipped below freezing in several areas.

Aviation officials say flights at Johannesburg (O.R. Tambo) International airport were delayed for up to three hours while planes were de-iced.

It looks increasingly like the Southern Hemipshere Winter is turning out to be the exact opposite of the Northern Winter.

I.e. good.

Parts of New South Wales that very rarely see snow have had a blanketing in the last couple of days, with more expected.

Mmmm ... the Hottentots Holland Mountains outside Cape Town had a dusting on their peaks this week. Quite bizarre to look over False Bay in Cape Town and see snowy mountains next to the sea! I'm quite sure that it was nowhere near enough to ski on though and I suspect the snowline was proabably at the least 1000m Sad
