Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Advice Needed: Car Rental - Geneva to 3 Valleys / St Martin

You have been warned.

Good advice. even with good weather this route will be very busy, and you do need to be flexible; no good deciding in advance how long it will take. Be prepared for a long trip, and to practice with the snow tyres. Your costs are probably about right, though you may need to pay extra to avoid insurance excess (very annoying, but it often seems that way) or if you want more than one driver. Have you costed a taxi transfer? It might not be hugely more and would take the burden off your shoulders.

mr_simonward, Have thought of insurance / excess? Hiring in Turin recently I paid another £30 or so to drop the CDW excess from 2000 euros to 500....

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Right - That's me booked. Cheers again folks for all the input. I'm sure I'll be calling for more advice later.

I can also confirm that this link:

Generates a discount from the 'usual' price.

Sorry guys, I've only just read the last 2 posts.

Excess waiver with holiday autos was an extra £17, so the total cost of a Mondeo Estate from the Swiz side for a week was £186.15

I didn't expect to get there in 2.5 hours. I have driven to St Martin before on a Feb Half Term Saturday, but that was from the North of the UK, leaving Friday night. So we know it's gonna be potentially lenghty getting to St Martin.

I've priced up taxi transfers, and they were looking like £90+ pp, so this is a cheaper option, and allows us to stock up in a Supermache' on the way + giving us access to a car for the week if we need it.
