Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So can I just clarify this, you're saying the Scottish ASSI incorporates the 'Central Theme' whereas the SSE ASSI doesn't?

That's right, no 'Central Theme' in SSE.

Thanks and thank goodness that someone has actually answered the question I asked way up the thread about the difference between the SSE and SSS ASSIs and why BASI chose the latter over the former as a suitable course for gaining exemption from the BASI Foundation - so there is a difference as I thought!

Your answer is very much appreciated and clarifies things for me Very Happy

beanie1, interesting whitepaper but it sounds as though this modernisation is primarily aimed at racing, coaching, national bodies and clubs with BASI as an outsider delivering instructor courses as a "partner". From this thread i thought that Instruction in the UK was a mess, but looks as though the overall pciture is even more complicated.

did anything ever come of this idea since publication in sept 2006? or are all the parties still squabbling as to what should be done.

I tried to look into racing for my daughter and it was completely confusing with loads of different websites, bodies and clubs all seeming to do somewhat similar roles. In the end i gave up.

Yes, I think that's the gist of it. I believe one of the primary motivators behind it was that if a sport has one recognised governing body it makes it easier to get government funding etc.

Off the top of my head, I think that 3 of the organisations voted for and one against. I will try to find out the latest.
