Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Geneva - Tignes Bus transfers

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Right, I've found cheap-ish flights for a last minute dash to Tignes over the May bank holiday, and am currently looking at accomodation ... so far, so good.

Now to coach transfers .. I've checked Cars-Martin who I thought ran a service to Tignes, but their website has succeeded in defeating me ... as has the Altibus website Mad

Can anyone throw any info my way on how frequent bus transfers are, and if I need to pre-book or whether I can just roll-up at Geneva airport and book there?

I've never been skiing in France, so I'm a little green .

jonflat2, go to www.gva.ch which is the Geneva airport website click on transportation and you'll find the info you need. You may find you need to catch a train to bourg St Maurice, which isn't a problem just a little slow so allow about 5 hours.

jonflat2,

try www.alpski-bus.com , or www.tignes.net has alot of info about buses and taxis etc.

You may be better emailing or phoning alpski or cars martin direct. I think next weekend is the end of the season, and they only have a limited service after that. Depending on your date & time of travel you may be better hiring a car, or depending on the number in your group arranging a taxi.
If you are still having trouble let me know & I can recommend a taxi company.

Thanks for the advice.

I looked at the website, and it looks like the ski resort bus service finishes at the end of April - so (unfotunately for my wallet) a taxi it is.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

jonflat2, You can get from GVA to BsM by train, but it can take up to 5hrs with the waiting time included. Wouldn't it be cheaper to hire a car rather than call a cab?

Mrs W, Thanks for the PM.

Masque, yeah I know ... I'd just rather not have to think about driving when I'm on holiday. I'm also pretty good at getting lost round London, let alone the French Alps!
