Poster: A snowHead

Axsman mentioned this elsewhere... watched a number of people skiing across tarmac roads last week in VT ... it's worse than fingernails on blackboards

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Yes. Wheels are mandatory.
Monoskiing down a mild gradient on a wide skateboard, with a reasonably long wheelbase, is fun!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

David, saw a few monoskis around in VT last week (more monoskiers than telemarkers, I think).

I did it once years ago. Skiing down a path in Les Arcs, strong sunlight, came round a corner, saw what I thought was ice, in fact it was wet tarmac. Destroyed the skis and my ski pants.

holidayloverxx, yes - I advise you buy your own skis to avoid problems such as this

Hoppo, Possibly people having a blast on some already totalled skis?
I might go ski down a few escalators when mine are at the end of their life.

george_1, looked a lot more like people on rentals who couldn't be bothered to take them off to cross the road...

IMO more people should ski tarmac, especially those who own their own skis - it's good for business

Hoppo, I have found rental skis to have much better edge hold on tarmac than my own..
Seriously - this is to be expected in an age where people ski rails, benches and escalators. How long before we see a Tarmac Specific Ski?
