Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

One word: AWESOME snowHead

The weather was warm and sunny but the snow stayed surprisingly firm until well into the afternoon above 2000m. The run down to the village was a joke - I ended up "skiing" on tarmac following a compulsory tow down a poma lift Skullie Shocked

The Scissor Sisters were playing a free gig in the main bowl to add to the excitement. The Austrian aprés ski was plain overwhelming. Hey! Ich mochte eine ice bear sein oh eee oh eee oh... Cool

Sharkymark, I think you'll find it's "Hey, wir wollen die Eisbär’n seh’n" (oh eee oh eee oh)!

And that uphill/downhill drag is crazy

Sharkymark, we were there a month ago and the snow by the poma was pretty thin and slushy then. It would be so much better to have a tow rope instead.

Apres is great and so is the skiing.

Sharkymark, There's nothing quite like Austrian apres ski Laughing A little reminder here from our Christmas holiday.
I don't know where this poma lift is - the video shows run 1 or 1a down to the Elizabeth Eisbar.

Sweet...we didn't pass by the Elizabeth Eisbar but instead went to Paznauner Thaya. We then "skied" down 37 with the poma (E5) and went to a bar just up the road. 4 doses of Eisbaren and Cowboys and Indians before we left about 10pm... snowHead

We loved the Kitzloch for the cheesy apres ski - and lots of Cowboys and Indians - a new song for us to learn this year!

The Paznauner was thumping the whole mountain! Good pizzas there too.

The problem with run 3 and the poma is that most people that ski it are pretty drunk from an afternoon at the Paznauner and then are incapable of negotiating the uphill/downhill parts on the poma - to the point where we saw one German guy dragged along it on his belly! It was quite funny though.

It's on run 3/37. The piste map looks like you can ski/board all the way, but the run is so flat that it's easier to take the drag. You then join run 1 around the middle station of the Fimbabahn.

is the poma new?

because i went there last year, skied the whole resort almost every run, apart from the run down to the village (due to crap snow on the run)

Tom Lowe, you may have missed it by skiing past it on the walking track but that would have involved a fair bit of poling.
