Poster: A snowHead
|
Hello.
I am going to Zermatt on honeymoon on April 30th, but have just had a confirmation e-mail from the hotel saying that they have reserved a twin room.
Does anyone have any hotel recommendations that would be nice for a honeymoon, doesn't have to be swanky but not cost the earth?
Thank you!
Kat

snowbunnie, we stayed in the Ambassador at New Year. It's 4*, nice big rooms, OK restaurant and handy for the Gornergrat railway. It has Matterhorn views, but then so do most places I imagine. It's comfortable rather than swanky I would say. Oh, and the bed was enormous!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hotel Biner. 3*. Large rooms, organic food restaurant. Bar with seats on chains Pool, about 5 mins walk from gornergrat, 10 mins from funicular. long way from cable car. Was rather inexpensive for zermatt, i think they had some rooms with the bath open in the room.

oh! I've booked the hotel Biner! Apparently they've spent 11 years refurbishing it, and you're right some rooms do have baths out on the open. I didn't know about the seats-on-chains though, that sounds fab.
Really excited now, thank you guys so much
