Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Portable plastic splint for broken bones

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A portable plastic splint has been designed that can fit inside a backpack. It heat-welds itself around broken bones, and can hold a broken limb together long enough to get medical help. The special plastic fuses itself together in about five minutes using the same chemical-reactive heat technology used in hand warmers. The product is aimed at extreme sports enthusiasts such as snowboarders and skiers. ... http://www.newscientisttech.com/article/dn11471-soft-splint-instantly-heatwelds-to-hold-broken-limbs.html

For some reason these images make me want to go out and buy an ice-cream.

Great idea for ski patrol and tourers maybe?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I read it and my immediate thought was a plastic bag and a tin of expanding foam. It can get very hot when curing though so I wouldn't attempt to try it myself.

My dad (a boat builder) tried to fix his battered leg cast once with epoxy resin - After about 10 minutes he had to attack it with an angle grinder as it was starting to fry his leg - Was pretty funny for us at the time though.
