Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skis in a Board Bag ??

Skis are 170 - was thinking of getting a board bag to put them in with all my other gear to cut down on bags - anyone got any experience.
Should I expect problems from airlines?

You can do pretty much anything you like as long as you remain within your allowance. They'll only get really arsey if you exceed 32kg with a single bag - they may refuse to carry it at all (baggage handler regs - not the airline rules). Skis weigh loads though - better to get them taken as 'sports equipment' surely?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Pete1909, I was thinking of doing the same when I go away for the season, I'd quite like to see what other people think..

Depends on the airlines, and the routes - you may be limited by the airline to 20-22kg per bag.

Was thinking of paying for ski carriage still - just putting all my gear together to make it easier.

Got stung £80 excess baggage last year when I went with the family - because I put everything in 1 big bag and a suitcase but didn't put the boots in a seperate bag. I've bought a Dakine convertible so that we can split it down this time but was thinking a board bag would reduce things down to 2 things to carry/wheel. - anything to make life easier when you've got a 3 year old running round terrorising the airport.

Pete1909, As WTFH says, check with your airline - some will carry sports equip free but limited to a certain weight allowance. Others will charge for carriage but still have a max weight allowance for the sports equip.
