Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mount Hood Meadows Development Corp., which owns Mount Hood Ski Resort in northern Oregon, proposes to construct a massive four-season resort on Mount Adams...

It would put up 11 ski lifts reaching the 11,100-foot level on the south side of the mountain providing one of the highest ski lifts in the country. It would also include three 18-hole golf courses, a mid-sloped restaurant, casino, night club, and 2,500 lodging units.
However, some tribal members of the Yakama Nation, whose land covers half of Mount Adams, regard the "potential returns of millions of dollars" promised by the development as insiginificant against such "a desecration to Mother Earth".

Had a good look at Adams when I stayed for a day in Hood River. Thought then that it would be a fantastic mountain to build a resort on. A friend of a friend pointed out a huge gully (on the south face of the mountain) which was basically just a massive snow trap. It was apparently filled with snow all year round and some people would hike up Adams and ski or board there in preference to the fairly limited summer snow on offer at Timberline.
