Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

help with scarpa denali XT sizing

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
So I tried on new denali TT and matrix and found that a UK9 gives me just under a two finger fit - probably about right for a touring boot

I have the opportunity to pick up some second hand denali XT in UK8 but wont be able to try them on. I'm sure with a bit of stretching I could get a wearable fit out of the size 8 but will it be warm/comfortable enough for multi-day hut-to-hut (and I would place comfort above skiing precision for that kind of stuff)?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

J

A good deal is tempting but I just dont think it is worth the risk. I have had scarpas and I have felt they fit quite big. However, you just never know do you.

Can you not go and try them on somewhere?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

jedster, Firstly, the Den' TT doesn't exist any more, the Spirit 4 has replaced it, so get a good price. Scarpa Shell sizing is 7.5-8, 8.5-9. That said, ensure you get a thermo liner and go for either a 7.5 or 8. Trust me, you'll be fine.

I thought Den TT was being sold alongside spirit 4 because last was different? No?
Is TT same basic shape as older XT?
Am I right in thinking scarpa size 9 equates to mondo 28.0?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

jedster, TT and Xt are the same boot except the the TT has the 'Over-Clog' coller for ease in walk model. I think the Uk tends to run around 1-2 winters behind Europe with regards Touring. New product being made available but old product still being sold. We still had the option of taking Lazer this winter, althought the shell has been in production for many years.
