Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Western Canada has the best conditions on the planet right now. Whistler looks monster.

Western US is also pretty good. Much of Colorado and Utah looks sweet.

Scandinavia is good. Norway and Sweden both doing well recently.

The Western half of the Alps have the best snow in that mountain range at present. Tignes, Val d'Isere and Chamonix have all been battered over the last few days.

The Vosges got a good dump at the weekend and yesterday too. France3 news report was about how it will be great for the locals, since all the weekend tourists will be back at work. This morning I passed a few cars with skis on them.

joshua, Pretty much anywhere in France I should think - don't know about further east. Bernard says tarantaise has stacks - Oisans has stacks - all over the place. I bet Argenterre will be able to tell you about the southern alps too.... NOT Garmisch Partenkirchen judging by last weekend's TV races. We've been skiing powder all week, and it's set to continue next week as well. Shocked Shocked

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Not much has changed in southern Alps. Conditions in Isola are decent on piste. All the snow arriving further up the Alps is totally bypassing here.
Here are a few snaps from last weekend.

Conditions in Verbier excellent above 2000m. They were excellent all the way down to 1500 but heavy rain overnight and this morning means lower slopes very heavy and wet. Heavy snow forecast for next couple of days, with FL just above resort level. Yesterday morning probably best skiing so far this season. Foot or so of fresh powder snow with good visibility early on. For the next week I would think that the old SCGB standby phrase 'best skiing to be found on upper slopes' would apply

Just back from Livigno and there was huge amounts of snow - snowed everyday for 4 hours minimum. Some of the pistes at the top were closed due to avalanche risk. Since i was worried about the lack of snow there this was a HUGE suprise. Very pleased! Very Happy
