Poster: A snowHead
|
Evening all,
I'm looking at taking a cheeky few days off at easter to try and get a few more days boarding in before the season ends, but I'm on a pretty tight budget and the cheapest flights I can find are to Salzburg.
Any advice on which resorts we I should head for, ie, the resorts which are most likely to have some snow left?...haven't got any other requirements other than snow and a bed to sleep in.
Also, should I expect any difficulties when trying to arrange accomodation wed-mon?
Thanks in advance
Richard.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

You should go to skiresorts with a glacier, this year is really bad in the lower parts, so go high up. Near Salzburg Kaprun can be a good choice.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Kaprun, Obertauern. Hintertux too though a little further.

AlTom, slikedges,
Thanks for the suggestions, A friend of mine had already suggested Kaprun as its only 100km away and is quite high. I'll check out Obertauern and Hintertux. Hopefully we'll have a late winter and the snow will still be OK at easter!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Accommodation over a weekend is often a problem as it is split over two weeks. To be honest the chances of you getting good cheap accommodation over the Eatser weekend are very very low (unless the snow conditions are even worse then). You might want to consider looking for accommodation out of the main resort with a good bus or train link in, this tends to be more avaiable and cheaper.

Obertauern or even try Altenmarkt?
