Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hulotte Piste - Meribel

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Does anyone know why this piste is nearly always closed? It is an innocuos (spelling?) looking blue run down from Altiport to the top of Meribel..in fact to the foot of the Morel lift..right next to the Chalet I am heading to on 4th March. It si one of only 2 runs closed in Meribel valley at the moment.

Just wondered if we can expect it to be shut or if something unusual is going on at the moment.

Cheers

There's a Yeti on the loose that's been eating anyone who sleeps in his bed in the chalet Smile

can't really help other than to say that i skied it many times during my season in meribel in 1998/99.

main problem is that this bi-passes the Rond-Pointe - a must attend apres-ski bar every weekday evening

OK thanks....the alternative is stop at Rond Pointe and stagger back later......I'll watch out for that Yetti Happy

really isn't far from the Rond-Pointe to Morel. You ski down the main piste a short while then stop when it takes a sharp left.

If i was there with you I'd show you a back route short cut to Morel from the ROnde Pointe - involves a few gardens, holes in hedges, crossing the road and jumping off a garage roof. Best performed after a proper apres session!

It's a very little used run compared to the main route in to Meribel and with no snow cannons (unlike the run going right down in to Meribel Village) I guess it's not worth the effort in trying to open it unless there's plenty of snow. Apres in Lodge du Village, Meribel Village on a Thursday night is alwalys good too, then the free Meribus back.

It is often shut as it is quite rocky and has no sno-cannon. Ski it anyway - rock hopping is fun! Twisted Evil
