Here's a set of exceptional photos to get the juices flowing for 2005:
Best of the Year from the US magazine 'Skiing'.
I love No.6, but I'm a bit fond of Engelberg anyway. Any other votes?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

No.10 reminds me of the wonderful powder skiing I enjoyed in Saalbach last January. I think the skier in the photo has a slightly better technique though. I also kept losing the odd ski, despite cranking up the DIN settings to 10.

8 or 9.
#9 just looks unreal, almost computer generated with those colours.........fantastic!

Actually, it's true that No.9 is a remarkable feat once you take in the caption. This high-speed freeride ski jumping is an amazing innovation in the sport.

Its Nos 3 & 10 for me, although how one can ski in chest deep powder beats me. Don't get me wrong, I can do chest deep powder, but only when my boots are visible above the surface and my face is planted.

Torn between #4 and #6 because they pull me in and make me want to follow. #1 third choice.
#8-10 are fantastic photos, but do not draw me onto/into the snow, rather they distance and demand admiration. Not the emotional impact I'm looking for this time of the season.
I like more context than #2, #3 provide. (May be I'm just a short-turn jackrabbit addict?)

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Lovely shots, but it aint the sport I know & love.
Where is the shot taken of a sunny, freshly bashed, busy blue, with a fat english bloke in a puple Berghaus hiking jacket deperatley trying to keep up with his dangerous, runaway kids, and far superior wife (technique of course)
