hi
i have used a pair of Hestra gloves (gauntlet type) for the last 10 years. They have a removable liner, but I find them so warm I rarely use them with the liner. I havent found a better pair of gloves.

Snowbird, I use a pair of silk inner gloves in addition to my normal ski gloves and that seems to work for me

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Snowbird, My mittens with individual fingers inside work well for me. I also like those elastic things that go round your wrists so you dont accidently drop your glove from the chairlift

Merino wool glove liners are the best! My fingers would be freezing without them.

Snowbird,
Women seem to get cold hands... a friend of mine uses a silk inner. I think mittens or the split fore-finger/mitten type sound good altho I think mittens are too warm personally. It helps if they are waterproof and don't get wet.

all i can advise is don't get north face gloves as i got a pair 2 yrs ago for 60eur and they are useless as on our recent trip had frozen hands all the time and nobody else had any problem with cold. had to borrow a pair from my friend who had bought them in a cheap supermarket for 5eur and they were super cosy. get a pair that fit well and have a deep thick lining and not necessarily a big name brand ie NORH FACE!

Mittens with individual fingers inside have always puzzled me. Why would you want to insulate your fingers from each other? The whole reason mittens are inherently warmer than gloves is because the fingers are together.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

geri, i totally agree with the elastic bit, dont you see lodes of single lonely fallen gloves when on the chair lift

Time to invest in opencast glove-mining then.

I got Rossignol ones from TKMAXX for about £17 - they were almost too warm this year, and didn't let the wet in
