Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

John Lewis - Half price skiwear

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi,

In JL in Kingston at the weekend, all skiwear half price. Mostly Columbia jackets but also some North Face and Peak Performance salopettes. I got a Columbia soft shell for £57 and the OH a Columbia jacket for £35. Assume that the other JLs are doing the same too.

A fair few jackets and about 10 pairs of men's salopettes left, not so many women's jackets and no w's salopettes in Kingston.

Cheers,
Peter

Anyone in the south could head for Filarinskis in Havant - lots of really good things in their sale. I just bought myself some in the Go Sport sale in Annemasse though, so no excuse for buying any more, even at bargain prices.

prthomas, I did not even know they did ski wear in John Lewis Kingston.

Is that :- straight in the front door; up the elevator; through furniture; down another elevator to menswear ? Or is it in sports goods ?

It is a strange shop. you end up coming back via the book department and womens hats. They obviously do not want custom. Men should not be required to walk too far from the pavement to shop. Escalators are a complete no no.

Kingston has gone to the dogs. You cannot get near it by car. You cannot even buy a decent overcoat or a pair of shoes there these days.

Blacks in Holborn have a ski sale, but no bargains as far as I could see.

It is in the sports wear, near to the audio visual department so handy for all men. Next to the kids toys too if you have some nippers in tow.

It is a funny shaped shop, but given that it is basically a big bridge over the road it is remarkably well built Very Happy
