Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Recommendations for Ski school(s) in Val d'Isere?

Going to VdI in March. I'm intermediate and want to learn how to improve technique on moguls (ie. without too many splats Toofy Grin ) and want to practise some off-piste. I'm happy doing a long, hard day. Which schools or instructors can somebody recommend? Puzzled

I did some of my BASI training with instructors who work for The Development Centre, and they were excellent. Should be just what you need for long, hard days as the standard is high.

we just came back from there and used Evolution 2. The instructor that we used was working for them that week, normally he had his own clients but when it was quiet he'd work for them. He was an excellent instructor specialising in off piste and instructing on piste in a very technical way. His first name was amigo but i don't have any more contact details with me. I'll post them in the morning. He wasn't the average esf or french instructor and his emphasis was on getting you to do everything perfectly, but i was very impressed with how he improved my girlfriends skiing in a short period of time and i ended up having a lesson with him which was knackering, but very informative whilst being fun.

jessski, welcome to snowHeads! snowHead Another Tignes resident - are you working out there? Sounds like you've had good conditions this season, especially compared to some other resorts. Although your sig looks a bit out of date Confused

snow hardpak,no off piste unless you skin, snow expected next week .. Snow cannons working overtime

Might not be that useful to have such info in your signature unless you update it daily, I thought it had been snowing heavily in Tignes last night and today.

Craghopper, I'm heading to Val in March as well with at least one similar aim (practising off-piste). Having checked the web and phoned around, I'm probably going to go with Top Ski. I have to admit that I have selected them primarily on cost (a mornings off-piste lesson for 4 hours in a group of up to 6 is only 55 Euro's http://www.topskival.com/products/10.9 Very Happy ) but back in 2003 they did win the Golden Ski Award Ski School of the Year so I guess that counts for something (at least I hope it does! Confused).

For generic lessons, Oxygene. Advanced stuff - Development Centre. Easy.

A friend and I were really pleased with our instruction (mostly on-piste) with BASS (British Alpine Ski School) and other members of our party (mostly off-piste) were extremely happy with Mountain Masters.

Mountain Masters were also excellent for the beginner in our group so they're not just off-piste biased
