Poster: A snowHead

We are staying in Soldeu and wondered if we could take a day out and explore Arinsal & Pal ?
I know we would need to buy a lift pass, but just wondered what the transportation is like and has anyone any experience of doing this ?

Pal is lovely and there is plenty of parking, HOWEVER its either a Taxi (30euro ish) or 2 buses, changing in Andorra La Vella- to La Massana and the gondola up from there. Gorgeous tree lined runs, good link over to Arinsal, cheap mountain restaurants and some stunning views over to Spain etc. What about Arcalis?

Personal opinion is that grandvalira area is all you'd want, and that there isn't a great deal of extras in Pal/Arinsal that would make the trip worthwhile. Have skied both, and much prefer grandvalira. Had a particularly good time in Grau Roig, which it seems most of the ski traffic never gets to (the Pas side tend to stay on that side of the mountain and the Soldeu crowd tend to go "right" towards El Tarter). Grau Roig is a good fun bowl which, admittedly doesn't have a lot of long runs, but has a great deal of variety on pretty much empty slopes.
Enjoy!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Tim Tastic, the tour operators are now offering a day trip to Arinsal / Pal from Soldeu - Airtours do anyway.

Go to Arcalis - fantastic ski-area. It's quite small but ideal for a day out
