Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Thinking of going skiing in europe in 2 weeks time...

I'm posting a message on behalf of my friend:

Quote:
Thinking of going skiing in europe in 2 weeks time (19th-23rd Feb) with our 1 year old son & getting a last minute deal. Don't want anywhere too high altitude or anywhere with too long a transfer as I'm sure he'll get cranky. Can anyone recommend some resorts that meet these criteria?
Thanks

I don't know enough about the snow in Europe to advise him, so was wondering if anyone could help... Smile

I recommend travelling by train when you have kids in tow. Actually I usually recommend travelling by train anyway (I'll say it before someone else does rolling eyes )

You have so much more space around you than on a plane and so much less scope for crankiness. Once you get to (for example) Moutiers, it's only about 20 mins on the bus or cab up to La Tania.

Still with last minute deals you can't be too choosey. Actually, looking at those dates, there might not be masses of availability as it's half term. If there is, it's because of the press scare stories about snow-no-show. If it's an option, a week or 2 later would be much cheaper.

I'm taking our 1 yr old to St Anton at the end of Feb. Short transfer, (1 and 1/4 hrs) and relatively low altitude in the town. We're going with Esprit Ski (the dedicated family operator) and they still appear to have deals available ... at a reduced price from what I paid....! rolling eyes

I've not had to ski with the little one in tow as yet, and Esprit seem to be well recommended... so it seemed like the easiest option.

Richie_S, the littlies in their Esprit pink tabards looked sooooo adorable last week, and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves (although a little bit older than your toddler). I've heard lots of positive things about Esprit - have a great time snowHead

Esprit are very good - we used them for our trips to Austria and Lapland, and would happily recommend them to everyone.
