Ski Freshtracks, the specialists in adventure skiing matching holidays to skiing ability, will feature in today’s BBC Holiday programme at 7pm.
Tours and safaris offer an experience unmatched by regular ski holidays
The BBC show will follow a Ski Freshtracks group across the famous Haute Route starting in the French resort of Chamonix and finishing in Zermatt in Switzerland. The Haute Route involves ski touring through the most dramatic peaks of the Alps moving between high mountain huts.
Ski Freshtracks offers an extensive ski touring programme including the concept of Ski Safaris and Exploration holidays suitable for those new to touring. Rather than staying in secluded mountain huts, many of these new ’safaris’ use hotel accommodation as a base from which to explore the mountains on touring skis. Also on offer for skiers looking for a taster of ski touring is the Touring Skills Weekend.
Caroline Boileau, General Manager of Ski Freshtracks said: ’It is great that BBC viewers get to see what a ski tour is like. Showing the Haute Route will allow people to see what it is like to be in the wilderness of the mountains and see how thrilling a Ski Freshtracks holiday can be.’
