Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Bansko pistes closed due to bomb threat

Ecologists yesterday threatened that it might set off a bomb in the Bulgarian ski resort of Bansko close to the pistes. Police evacuated the region and the pistes were closed today, while they combed the area to find the bomb. The runs may stay closed for a few days. The threat was sent in a letter from an undisclosed organisation. It explained that the aims of the action are to trigger avalanches and protest against the construction works in the resort. ...The town’s mayor (Aleksander Kravarov) confirmed that such a threat has been received.

perhaps it is the local mafia who have created the bomb threat. Sounds like a standard mafia insurance threat to me!
