Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

While Europe sweats - Denver/Colorado freezes

After a poor week in Austria in January, somebody somewhere was smiling on me, as I immediately got asked to go to a work trip to Denver. Reckon I should be able to sneak in a couple of days skiing between meetings.

Very very cold here. 3-12cm expected in the City today and metro-area lows 7F (-14C) for the city itself on Thu/Fri. Forecast at the top of Loveland is -27C on Thursday afternoon (that's before windchill). Good job I packed the thermals along with my business suit! I am not sure I've ever been anywhere that cold Confused

4"-5" fallen overnight in most of the high areas, with it due to continue snowing for the next few days. With a base of 40"-50" already, should be some good skiing to be had.

I just hope that Denver airport remains open, otherwise I may be stuck out here .... wink snowHead

kamikaze, What job do you have that brings you on business trips to snow zones or have you invented a reason to go there!

Denver is quite a big IT/Telecoms hub, and we have a key partner out here. Think I might have to work with this partner more closely in the future wink

Are you out at DTC (Denver Tech Center) ? I spent sometime training over there a few years ago.

stanton, No - am actually in Broomfield, about 30 miles from Denver and about 40 mins from nearest slopes.

It's been snowing hard here, and very cold, with more snow due over next few days. 12.5" of fresh snow within last 24 hours at nearby Winter Park (similar story for most of resorts around here). Driving was a bit treacherous yesterday, as it was about -10C with a several inches of snow on the roads. Even on the freeway, you couldn't see the road-markings

After my meeting today, hoping to nip to the small resort of Eldora, and then do Winter Park all day tomorrow snowHead

Just goes to show that you can't infer anything about global warming from one relatively poor season in the Alps.

Don't know what you are talking about...I've just had some blinding conditions in Switzerland for the best part of 2 weeks. And some of the pistes have been in amazing condition. Plenty of good tracks as well.... Confused Confused Puzzled .... snowHead
