As I mentioned in your other thread, RX8s are not going to make you a better skier in themselves, but I also very much doubt they will slow your progress in any way by being too advanced. Especially if you go on the short side. The worst scenario is that you just won't get the maximum performance out of them, initially at least. I think you'd struggle more on a fatter more off-piste oriented ski like the Rossi B3 or even your current B2s.
Can you afford to wait until you get chance to demo in resort? That would be the best advice by far.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Ah stfff it. Get them bought. 165's. Its not like they are overpriced at the moment. In 4 weeks of skiing since i bought mine, the only other pair I have seen were a pair of demos at the PSB (excluding charlatanefc's which were an early model, and he has swapped for some magfire 8's )

I paid just under £200 equivalent for RX8 last year if that helps. There are paypal charges and shipping on top so I think mine cost £220 all in. A pair of AMC 79 went for 221 euros. hope this helps.

I have considerecd all of the above carefully . Also, I got a very good price for my B2's on Ebay so I am a kid in a toy shop with money in his pocket. I've booked 7 days in Val D'Isere from 10 Feb and paid for ski carriage.
I checked out all the online rental shops in VD and I can't find RX8's for hire, indeed looking at french retailers generally fischers are not stocked . Some of you will be ahead of me now.
So I have taken a leap of faith and yesterday I ordered the 165's from Ski-Bilek , if they are no good they might be on Ebay soon, but I doubt it. admin, just too late but thanks anyway, I'm sure that at those prices, there will be many who can't resist.
I must say a big thanks to all of you who have shown great patience and taken the time to share your knowledge it has been extremely enriching (and not in the least bit patronising) and I do appreciate it, many thanks.
Now, contrarily some might think , I'm off to Google La Valle Perdue...

mike.healy, Good effort, I very much doubt you'll be disappointed. And don't go blaming the skis this time if you skid the tails
