I've been skiing twice before with my wife (who cannot get time off work this year). I'm desperate to go again this year. I've found the right deal £200 inc lift pass, flights and accomodation. All I need now is for someone (or more than one) to share the fligts and accomodation and to ski with. Anyone interested the flights are any Saturday in March from Mancheter. Let me know!

Wow my first posting on this site and I'm being seen as some kind of lunatic!
The deal is to do this independently. I can get flights at £79 return with a well known airline on a charter flight basis (from either Manchester or Gatwick). For those who are seriously interested I will be happy to give details by way of reply to emails but I'm hardly likely to advertise what I've found on a forum before I have booked my own - there will no doubt be only limited availability at this stage in the game. Once i've booked my own i'll tell the world!
There are various choices of newly built accomodation in central positions largely because the resort has been somewhat over developed in recent years. The accomodation i've found is £100 per apartment per week (ie £50 each if 2 share - although the accomodation will actually sleep 6).
The resort is probably the newest ski resort in the world in that there was no resort there 5 years ago - the effect being that everything (gondola, accomodation, chair/drag lifts etc) are less than 5 years old. It is true that there are only 65km of piste but snow records in March are excellent (in fact too much when I was there last year). The beer is 30p a pint but due to profiteering that goes up to 50p on the slopes! A 3 course meal with wine costs about £5. The lift pass was about £70 last year so here are the calculations:-
Flight - £79
Accom - £50
Pass - £70 (may be a little more this year)
Total - £199 per person
Yes this does sound like pixie land to the uneducated but in fact it is Bansko in Bulgaria.

Transfers - duration/distance, cost??

chris h, no wonder it's so cheap they have bomb warnings that stop you skiing there! I'm going to Sofia on March 4th, plan to ski Vitosha and Borovets, should be interesting....
