Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Booking accommodation in Canada

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We are off a week tomorrow for 16 days in Canada Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy . So far we have only got our first four nights booked at Chateau Lake Louise (through Lastminute.com), we decided not to bother booking any more until we get out there so we can be very flexible about where to go.

Does anyone have any experience of booking accommodation last minute in Canada, is it better to go through resorts Central Booking or are there any websites etc where we can get a good deal. We are taking our laptop with us, as OH is also doing some photography whilst we are out there, so hopefully we can book quite easily over the net if necessary.

Thanks for that, we haven't really got any plans as we keep changing our minds. Currently we are thinking of Kicking Horse, Panorama, Kimberley and Fernie. But as we went to Panorama and Kimberley last year, and love Sun Peaks, Big White etc we keep thinking that maybe we could drive over there instead. I am not sure if that is do-able though.

Anniegirl, Panorama is in Intrawest resort (I think), so they'll have a central agency for accommodation.

Anniegirl, We've done BW/SS as a side trip from Panorams (basically got a late deal, accom included at Panaorma for less than the cost of flights) - but we hitched a lift back to Calgary with the tour op transfers a week early, and had booked flights from Calgary on to Kelowna. You could look at owner direct as well for those.

Bookfor Friday Saturday nights , probably wing it for the rest - most ski towns have plenty of motels. Disclaimer - school holidays may impact this.

Only the GST (which is only one of the two taxes) - and even that is changing from April this year, so get in quick if you want to claim the rebate.

I find that getting a room is not usually a problem if its not the weekend or a holiday, there is a hostel in Banff too. Fernie is a great Mtn. if your intermediate level or up and if you want hard core there is a little hill called Castle east of Fernie. Nelson B.C. is a great town and has Whitewater just out of town and near the border is Red Mtn. another fun hill. Usually ski 2-3 areas in Alberta/BC every year. have Fun it's snowing
