Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

O.k. here goes. Loads of the white stuff dropped on 23rd - 24th - 25th. Told about 80cm before we left (27th). Snow conditions are great (they still have the snow cannons running as well). All resorts around the sella ronda have very good conditions. Got a bit bumpy in the afternoons but it really was a pleasure to ski.

Flew into Bolzano. No problems on either the arrival or departure, although I’m not sure what the pilot was thinking trying to land on one wheel in Bolzano (got the heart going). Couldn't make the hidden valley (too much snow and we couldn't get over the pass). Skied the marmolada, great conditions.

I summary, anyone going over the coming weeks has nothing to worry about.

tp023, Did you have the 15k hold and 8k hand baggage restrictions? We are flying with them on 17th Feb from Gatwick and I have real concerns about getting all our kit in and under the weight limit. I have booked ski carriage and as usual will pack out the ski bag with clothing. However my boots weigh 5kg so that does not leave much weight/space for clothes and the rest of our gear. How strict was the scrutiny of baggage?

We are going to Arabba.

Cheers

I took a single 29kg bag (put my boot bag in the hold all). They never questioned it. We had a group of 12 and all were over the allowance. They never questioned it last year either. From experience I’d say don't worry.

tp023, we did the Manchester-Bolzano route, in a turboprop - don't know whether it's the type of plane but they're about the most vigorous landings I've experienced...
