Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Recommended ski instructors / schools in Whistler

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm planning to go to Whistler in March, and wondered if anyone had any experience or recommendations on ski instructors/schools?

From everything I've read/heard it sounds as if instruction in Canada/US is top-notch - but it's always nice to have some personal feedback.

I doubt that he is working there this season.... but if he is Roger Systad is very good...

Stephen Brooks is also an instructor there I love to ski with...

Meesh Berthoud is a friend and a great guy and likes choc chip cookies IIRC

Off topic I know, but as a matter of interest what's late-March weather like in Whistler ... ? Would I be better trying to get out there a bit earlier?

jonflat2, Light powder days are not unknown in late March April.

2 seasons ago we had a 43 cm dump of light powder on April 1st, we thought it was an April Fools joke by the radio station, until we got up on the chair...... woo hoo!

jonflat2, It is top-notch.

We've been to Whistler for 4 weeks over a couple of years and done a variety of lessons (esprit, supagroups, Dave Murray and Extremely Canadian)

They've all been pretty good (no, make that great) except once when Denise was bumped to a different (wrong) class and couldn't keep up.
Wasn't too happy about it and the guys casual attitude but ski school gave us a refund for the day without question.

jonflat2, I think that you're guaranteed to have no more than three people in the supergroups - see the info on their website: http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/reservations/Lessons/mg_34/v_1468/b_31/Supergroup-Ski--Levels-4-6-.detail

veeeight, thanks for the reply!

Yup, that is the program I teach on, pn Blackcomb. If you're a Level 4-6 and taking a SuperGroups session, I'll see you there!
