Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

errrrrrrm Chamonix Forecast 70cm - 100cm at 1800m (Mon Day, Night and Tuesday)

Huston,

This (70 - 100cm) was the forecast (cumulative) for the total snowfall with a snow-line starting at 1800m and ending at 700m. links appear from all the resort web sites in the area.

The forecast predicted we should have 20-30cm at 1800cm by now - I estimate we have 3cm of very wet snow at 1800m and the snowline has not dropped to 1200m as predicted for Monday day.

Considering 1800m is the top of the bubble in resorts like Les Carroz this is a bit worrying. Lets hope tonight / tomorrow is better!!!

We are now down to 40 - 60cm and I would settle for 40 right now!
