Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just Got Back from St Anton Yesterday ..........

Poster: A snowHead
O.K. Everybody looks for different things to enjoy their weeks skiing so this is a personal take on the situation.

Before we went we were honestly thinking we may have to cancel. I'm glad we didn't because although the skiing was limited we still had enough to do to have fun for the week. I have looked at the previous post re conditions and of course, St Anton could do with a big dump of snow. However, during our week, the temperatures dropped and the cannons were going full blast to cover the lower slopes. As of yesterday they were trying really hard to cover the piste to enable access to the KK and also to enable skiing back down from the Rendl area.
We had some reasonable skiing in Lech and Zurs. From our observations there were a lot more pistes being prepared - and saved - for the increase in numbers this week.

We all know it's a bit of a gamble this time of year. Hopefully, if you go with limited expectations as we did, you may be pleasantly surprised with what you find.

Any questions I will try to answer honestly.

Loatie -- What % of the resort's slopes were open? Could you ski from top to bottom?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Whitegold - There were about 10 or 12 numbered runs and you could go from top to bottom - from schindlergrat chair lift onto piste 14 then 12 then 4 then 1 down in to st anton arriving at the bottom of the Galzig lift. It was also a nice run from the top there to go from 14 to 17 ending up at Rauz and getting the chair back up. Looking at the st anton web site today they have opened a few more runs and also looks as if the rendl area has opened up a bit which was totally closed when we were there. Hope this helps.
