Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Eighteen-year-old Greg Doda, of Maryland (USA), was sentenced this week to spend the holidays in jail for a snowboarding crash in which he killed a skier. The sentence was passed about 5 months after he pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide....The accident happened in February 2004. Doda was snowboarding at Jackson Hole when he crashed into 29-year-old Heather Donahue from Massachusetts. During their investigation, the Authorities reviewed a video of the crash and determined that Doda was probably going more than 45 mph when he ran into Donahue. She died from head injuries.
Doda was also given a year’s probation and 240 hours of community service, was fined about $4,000, and ordered to write an article about the crash and about snowboarding safety for a national magazine.

wow Shocked Heather Donahue's life was cheap. I wonder what her family has to say to the value placed on her.

Thats just the criminal part - the civil trial is where the family will recover money. The fine won't go to the family anyway..

They will probably end up with a few million - but good luck collecting it from a broke kid. Most likely they will sue the resort and the government too
