Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Etiquette..................

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi Folks

There is one thing that I've been wondering about for a long time. Is there any ski slope etiquette that I should be aware of? Things like not stopping in certain locations, rights of way and priorities on the slopes - skiers & boarders - beginers & those more proficient, ski lift etiquette etc. Safety tips etc.

Any ideas? I'm sure it's not a complete free-for-all!

Yes there are. there are 10 basic rules which you;ll normally find printeds all over the place in resort. HOweever due to "accelerated learning curves", I find that people who've learnt in tha past few years have spent less time in classes then they would have done previously and thus don;t have said rules drummed into them quite as firmly

number 1 result for "rules of the piste" on Google:

Be warned: on powder days, all etiquette tends to go out the window. snowHead

Is all fresh snow powder or does it have to be the 'right sort' of snow?

Megamum, if you can easily make a sticky dense wet snowball with your new snow then only true optimists would call it powder wink If it doesn't make a snowball but is so dry and light that it just falls apart in your hands then it's the stuff of dreams Very Happy
