Poster: A snowHead
|
I'm off to this little spot in Swiss-land on Chirstmas day for 10 days for some skiing (if there's snow!) or walking if there's not (supplemented by some experiments into the effect of alcohol on the human body).
Does anyone know the area? If so, any recommendations for a) something challenging on-piste or b) something fun off-piste either near-piste and unguided or back country and guided?
Ta muchly,
Z

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

zammo, There is rumoured to be good off-piste in Leysin, which is on the same lift pass as Villars. There is a chap called Boswell that has a chalet there, so it may be worth sending him a pm.
I haven't seen him online recently but he often used to offer his chalet when the opportunity arose.
I have only been to Villars a couple of times, and don't remember any challenging pistes. I also only went off-piste by accident, so I am no help there either - sorry.

zammo,
There's a glacier at Les Diablerets, so you should be able to get some skiing.
HOWEVER, the only time I've ever been there was in summer, for a conference, so I can't help much on the terrain etc!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
