Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Club Med's note to non-Israelis did not go down too well.

Having stayed at the Hilton in Taba on the Red Sea on two separate occasions, I can see one reason people might want a warning. The Hilton was subsequently bombed on a big Israeli holiday.

You must have stayed in Egypt at the time. When it was "in" Israel it was the Aviya Sonesta. When the Sinai wash handed back the Hilton group took charge.

Most Israelis that go overseas tend to use Club Med. It is actually quite cheap for them. In fact it was cheaper for me to book through Israel and go with my friends than it was to go to Club Med from Ireland.

However Club Med should get more staff from Russia during the Hanuka week holidays. A lot come from that particular country and when the borders of Israel were opened up to the former soviet union, many people arrived that were probably the less desirables. Many of these immigrants would be described as "Chuchchuckim" (loudmouth #rseh#les).

Roy Hockley, Yes it was in Egypt. Second time there were lots of Russians there on fully inclusive deals. So they were hitting the booze fairly hard. They are a nightmare at customs too.

I was not aware you could book packages abroad. What happens when Club Med find you have an address outside Israel ?

Did not go in the end, but would have bought it through my friends out there. BTW what is the price of Club Med out of the UK. I know it is all included but it seems vv expensive here in Ireland.
